Director of Student Services
Administrative Faculty Position
Southern California
The Director of Student Services oversees the programs which support student life on the Southern California campus of SFTS. Working closely with the VP of SFTS/SC, the Director of Student Services provides structures for student worship, guidance, vocational development and placement. He or she functions as the Chaplain of the SFTS Southern California program, offers the Intro to Ministry course and oversees the Supervised Practice of Ministry Course. An earned doctorate is preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Non-academic student support
- Chaplain
- Oversee Integrative Studies Program
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Introduction to Ministry
- Supervised Practice of Ministry
- Other teaching as related to candidate’s academic discipline
- Part of leadership team for Presbyterianism: Principles and Practices
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Oversees Vocational Development and Placement Assessment
- Maintains relationships with individual congregations and judicatories
- Participates in Seminary Days Open Houses
- Coordinates Newsletter
- Coordinates administration of Ordination Exams
- Initiates and Coordinates student review process
