New Communications Director Helps Seattle Presbytery "Start Communicating Again"
Thursday, March 29, 2007 (179 reads)

HFrancis Thumb.jpgSeattle, WA – The Seattle Presbytery has hired Heidi Francis as its new communications director, a position vacant since August 2006. Ms. Francis will begin work on April 1, 2007. The Rev. Jerry Poole, interim executive for the presbytery, made the announcement at the March 20 presbytery meeting held at First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue.

Ms. Francis has directed the production of congregational communications for more than 10 years. For the past eight and a half years she has been the communications specialist at Saint Andrew's Lutheran Church in Bellevue, WA.

She brings theological training and fluency in both print and web media with a biblical studies degree from Trinity Lutheran College in Issaquah, WA, and a certificate in multimedia design and production from the University of Washington.

"I am thrilled to have Heidi join our staff as communications director," said the Rev. Jerry Poole. "She brings a wealth of experience in church communications from her years as a communications director. Furthermore she is inquisitive about emerging communication practices and has advanced communication skills. We're excited that she's on board to help us keep communications flowing," he said.

The Presbytery of Seattle, a regional part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), spans the King and South Kitsap counties. It was one of the historic early church organizations in the region, holding its first Presbytery meeting in 1858. The Presbytery now has more than 21,250 members in 55 churches, a new church development in South Lake Union, and ten ethnic worshiping fellowships.
