"There have been three Cambodian children and youth classes every Sunday in the past six months. There are volunteer teachers for these classes. Parents are partnering with us to find Khmer resources for these classes. We are praying that God would provide some money to buy the Khmer Curriculum and we hope to help pay for the teachers gas expenses. These teachers have been teaching classes all along with limited resources.
The goal of these classes is to eventually reduce the number of gang recruitments and to bring some of these young people to be part of the Christian community. Through these classes, we are able to meet with their parents and some of them volunteer to help bring snacks and others want to learn more about our mission program. As a result, several of them came to our confirmation class and learned more about Christianity. What a unique opportunity for them to get their children educated and also explore the Word of God at the same time!
We hope this grant will allow us to help reach out to our young people and get them off the streets. It gives life for these children by providing them the opportunity to share Christ’s love with them by bringing them into a closer relationship with God."
